The history of Africa

WELCOME

Welcome to the Website of the Federal Republic of United African States!

The United African States is the newly formed sovereign and independent nation of Africa, comprising the former 55 former nation/states.  At the recent African Union Summit of Africa’s Heads of State, the Unilateral Declaration of the Federal Republic of United African States was adopted in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, for Africa to become one country, effective May 1, 2010.

Yes, we are one, as we were created to be; that we ought to be; that we could have been; that we must be!  We have arrived at a significant point in our common destination.  We are now in one boat and we must make sure that the boat floats.  If it sinks, we sink together.

The mission of this nation, the United African States, is to eradicate abject poverty, illiteracy and to protect, promote and defend ourselves, using what we have to get what we need and want for ourselves.

We want to build a new nation for the Africans and the African descendants in which we share a common vision for Africa’s development for the 21st Century; an Africa of which its citizens can be proud – a united nation where Africans can reclaim their dignity, purposefulness, self respect and gain respect of other nations. We built Europe and the Americas; now we must build our homeland, Africa.

We want to create wealth and distribute wealth equitably among ourselves, within the new Africa.  We want a nation where equal opportunity has true meaning and where achievement is second nature, because every child and adult will know that they have an equal opportunity to achieve their dreams, if they make a plan and work hard to achieve them.

We need freedom. We want to build a nation where we can find peace and justice; where no one is oppressed or suppressed; where we share love among ourselves, with others and hate none.  We will seek no revenge or retaliation, but we must not forget the lessons that we have learned.  We must remember that the will of God who created us, must be obeyed!

We want to build a nation in which patriotism, pride, determination and commitment to building the nation are sincerely felt by the hundreds of millions of citizens of Africa.  It is the collective effort on the part of the Africans and African descendants that will make Africa the haven to which all Africans who feel “exiled” can return to Africa, with better hope and more promising dreams for their future.

The road will be hard and difficult, but we must be prepared to face the challenges directly and be committed to staying on the course that we have chosen, now that the path has been laid.  This is our responsibility in this generation.  How we reach our goals, when we get there and how we remain there permanently are functions of all of us.  We must arrest this deterioration of our homeland, Africa.  We must do this by ourselves and for ourselves.  To quote our brother in another land, “YES, WE CAN!” and “WE SHALL OVERCOME” poverty, illiteracy, ignorance, lack of transparency in governance and we will take Africa to new heights.  Let us come together and work to make this change for the better!

May God bless, guide, protect us and help us to achieve our objectives for our new nation, the United African States.
